How Inappropriate.

In the middle of a procrastination session last night, I stumbled across a blog rating quiz on Carrie's blog. Being the charmingly innocent blogger that I am, I decided to be brave and give it a go. (What? I'm a sucker for memes.)

I've written my fair share of er, ranting blog posts. A lot of these posts have been er, less than positive ones. And yep, I've used my fair share of er, less than polite expressions in the afore mentioned blog posts. I figured I'd be at least PG-rated, like all the cool kids.

Ha!

I am more innocent than I thought. This blog is G-rated, bitches. (Hee!) Apparently, the blog rater believes that 'suck' is more of a swear word than a certain other rhyming word that starts with the letter F.

I do have one complaint.

Why the (beep) is my new domain blocked by the Department of Education here at school? Pretty poor if you ask me, especially since you can view all of my old Typepad entries - and they contain content that is ONE AND THE SAME. Bah!

  1. Sometimes "someone" will ask for a website to be allowed through the filters, so Typepad might be 'opened' where as other blogs are still "closed". I'm not sure what filtering software Dept Ed NSW uses but the Websence software we use at my school blocks blogs (well it did until I 'opened' it).

Have a quiet friendly chat to your school techie - wine or chocolate offerings might help.

  2. I got NC-17 (is that equal to R or X here?). Funnily enough when it listed all the words that caused that rating it didn't include the numerous "fuck"'s I drop in my posts.

Hey, I wonder if comments including naughty words affect your rating????

  3. OK, I got a PG for saying "knife" thrice and "shit" once. I don't think the widget works right, because I've said the F word and the GD word countless times just this year. And I talked about sex toys for an ENTIRE entry once.

    So...yeah. :D

  4. I also think the ratings thing is bogus. I got a PG-13 rating because I allegedly said "crap" twice and "shoot" once. I do try to keep my cursing down because it offends my madre (she thinks it makes me sound uneducated and unladylike, imagine!), but I drop the S work and the F word at least once a week. Hmmm.

  5. my blog is also G rated. Though you wouldn't know it from my google searches (ewwwww!) and lol - the only black mark on my block was for saying the word "cock", when did I do that? I don't even remember but maybe I was talking about a chicken!

  6. My blog is PG because of one use of the word "hurt." That system has a strange idea of what is and isn't offensive.

  7. i found the same rating on a different blog that i read, and i got PG. i don't think they search through everything, because i've also used some significant swear words that didn't seem to come up in their perusal of the site. meh - whatevs. :)

I'm glad that your blog is, apparently, so family-friendly!

  10. I never considered myself a G blogger either. I've been trying to use more profanity.

  11. I'm a G blogger, and I guess that's probably just because I'm all sweet and innocent. Plus, my mom reads it.

  12. I feel so dirty. I'm NC-17.

You probably shouldn't hang out with me. I'm a terribly bad example.
