Life for Dummies.

I've always said that one of my pet hates is people who have no common sense, which is really pretty snotty of me considering I'm not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed.
[Ask my family, they'll concur on this one.]

I think I've become better at being logical over time, but I still have my moments. Sometimes though, I feel it's not just me; that things are made difficult on purpose, when there is no real need for them to be.

Like why I can't figure out how to get songs off my Ipod and loaded onto a computer with no Itunes library on it, without obliterating them into nothingness? [Yes, I'm worrying about this a good six months before it has even become a problem, so what?]

Like why I'm working my arse off, yet losing a third of my salary to tax, of which I receive only a pitiful amount back? [How the hell does anyone afford to move out in this country?]

Like why all the foods that I love to eat and crave like crazy are always fattening, and why I can have one bad weekend and gain over two kilograms? [Bugger. Shit. Fuck.]

After some fruitful searching of my own, I've discovered some books on the subject. Perhaps it's high time I learn some more, because I'm feeling a tad overwhelmed.

  1. The iPod thing is because there is not way to get songs off of your iPod - at least, no official way. You have to download some third party software, but it can be done.

  2. Oh my goodness I know how you feel about the food thing! Whenever I'm buggered or stressed and I just want to calm down with some good old comfort food, all it ends up doing is making me fatter and groser! Why is everything that tastes good ... BAD?!

And about the iPod thing, I've easily solved that problem. Give it to your boyfriend and demand he "FIX it". Works every time! ;)

  4. Even though I love food, sometimes I also hate it. Why must all the stuff I like the best have the most calories and fat?

  5. Stupid tax. I know how you feel, love. Mind you, you probably earn at least 3 times more than me. Try saving to move out of home when you're on $22K, your other half is on $40K but has a $16K debt. How do you save? Veeeerrry sloooooowly...
Yes, bad food is the devil incarnate. That is why it tastes like heaven but goes straight to the thighs. Or arse. Or stomach. Whatever your sucker point is. Blech.
PS. Get someone to help you burn it off, wink wink, nudge nudge.

The ipod thing is totally fixable, as you can download ripping software to do it. Even the ipod help lady told me about it. She said she couldn't solve my problem but if I googled "ipod" and "rip" a solution would be found. Voila!

  9. Oh my gosh...I know exactly what you are talking about gaining weight over one bad weekend. Keep your chin up...it will come off quickly.

  10. I'd argue about the "not the sharpest tool in the shed" part - your observations are pretty keen to me.

As for kilos, who knows? Some days I eat plenty, others I'm not hungry - and the scale randomly chooses a number. ;)
