Overheard in the Classroom #2

The following excerpt was taken from a student's spelling book;

"A Diplodocus is a plait eating dinosaur."

Be afraid, girls. Be very afraid.

  1. I am so glad that the dinosaurs were wiped out by the dinosaur rapture. Because I. WORE. PLAITS. YESTERDAY!

  2. I love the word "plait." Far superior to "braid," if you ask me.

  3. I agree with Laurel- "plait" is much better than "braids". Sadly, I don't think any of my students would even know what a plait was.

  4. The funniest part is wondering whether your student just misspelled, or is actually going around laboring under that particular delusion :)
