The Good: The fact that air conditioning units were installed in every classroom last month, ready for the upcoming warmer months.
The Bad: Being informed we can't use said air conditioners yet, because the school isn't permitted to draw the extra energy needed yet.
The Ironic: Experiencing a 33.5 degree day ... in October! (92.F)
This summer is going to be insane.
I'm not looking forward to it...
ReplyDeleteI've downed my bodyweight in water today... and I don't drink water...?
I really don't envy you for having to stick it out in the heat. The summer in Germany sucked unless you lived where we are living. We were roasted and had to invest in a a/c for the bedroom. Sleeping while the thermometer rises to 31°C in your bedroom was impossible.
ReplyDeleteThese are the times that I love working in an office highrise.
ReplyDeletePS - I had a giggle at the fact you have to get permission to use the power in order to use the A/C.
After our southerly this afternoon, I understand that some cooler weather is headed our way :-)
33 degrees!! WTF. You Celsius people confuse the heck out of me. But 92 degrees Fahrenheit... now THAT is air conditioning weather!
ReplyDeleteIsn't permitted to draw the energy? How...strange. But considering how much A/C you Aussies must end up using in the long run, whew! Talk about an electrical bill. It gets warm here, but you guys put the Holy in HOT.
ReplyDeleteThen again, everyone likes a hot teacher, right? :)
Everything really is different down there... It still blows my mind to think of summer as being associated with December, January and February. FREAKY! But I think it wouldn't be so weird if Christmas wasn't in December. Christmas and cold in my brain just GO together, ya know? I think you should start a campaign for people to start writing more Christmas songs for the Southern hemisphere. Most of the standard Christmas songs were written by people that live up on this end.
ReplyDelete56 (F) and shivering, thank you very much.
ReplyDeletethat's just mean to tease you like that. why give you the ac is you can't use it?
ReplyDeletewell i have my space heating running. it could be worse!
ReplyDeleteEeeee, when I woke up it was 24 degrees F! FREEZING COLD!
ReplyDeleteYou're in for a shock when you get to the UK!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI was going to say... 33 that's chilly!!
ReplyDeletebut 92 whew that's a whole new issue!
I feel your heat pain, missy.
ReplyDeleteImagine what Brissy is like right now!!
Ooooh! I hope you don't get our summer! We had 100+ degree heat for 28 days straight... it was HELLISH!! Ugh, please bless that today was just a fluke.
ReplyDeletexoxo
Oh, oh, that's not good!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad my office has it's own air conditioner ... it's great! Hopefully yours will be up and running as soon as possible!
well i work from home and don't have an A/C but a swamp cooler which works ok until the humid/rainy days come.
ReplyDeleteit's so weird to me, being down under here in America (it's down under to you all right?!!!) to hear about summer in October preparing for Christmas! But I guess it's weird for you to think of it the other way too! ;-)
get over it woman you are not that hot.
