Whilst putting together yesterday's yearly recap post, I came to realise that 2007 wasn't a particularly wonderful year for me, sickness wise. It's not as though they were truly serious ones, but they were enough to leave me knocked around for a good few weeks across the year.
Catching a bug right before my plane trip was hardly something I would have wanted, but in a way it might have worked out for the best: the jump from summer to winter weather would have most likely had me sneezing anyway. (It's not the cold weather that bothers me, it's walking into buildings that are blasting their heaters at million degree temperatures. No wonder we're all sick!)
I'm feeling much better lately, and hopefully will be able to shake off the remaining pesky little germs soon. It would be really nice to be able to ring in the New Year without having to blow my nose every twenty seconds, even if we do just end up watching the celebrations on the television like a couple of grandparents.
For now, though ...

glad your tonsils are regular size, and I figured out a long time ago that my favorite way to spend new years is at home, going to bed early. That way I can start the new year bright, early, without hangover.
I hope you get better for your New Year's celebrations, whatever they may be!
We'll be travelling back to the old hometown to see the Detroit Pistons take on the Milwaukee Bucks in basketball, after having eaten far too much at our favorite buffet.
We were hoping to stop by "The Best Next-Door Neighbors in the World's" house for a cocktail or two, but the weather forecast is making it look pretty iffy.
Happy 2008 my dear. I wish you and Jason all of the love that new beginnings bring - forever and ever.
Going to the New Year's Eve service (11pm?) in St Paul's Cathedral was Darren's and my Hogmanay highlight two years in a row. :)
Perhaps you are getting all your sickness out of your body in time for 2008? Does this mean 2008 will be a non-sick year for you? Here's hoping! And don't worry - I'll probably be watching the festivities on the TV too since I'll be working for most of the night and the last thing I'll want to do is go out and party!
I hope you have all the sickness out by 11:59 on January 31. So you can start 2008 off right!
Have a great new year! As someone who has done pretty much every kind of New Year's party imaginable, staying inside with friends/family/significant others is always the best!
Have a great January 31!
Ahh! I want that dog!! :)
Happy New Year!!!
I'm finally back to reading blogs and commenting! I'm so sorry you got sick...that totally sucks. I hope you get better and really really fast!
I agree - the combination of cold weather and ridiculously hot heaters are bad bad bad.
Hope 2008 brings a healthier Aly!
Thanks for sharing those pictures and your year end review. It's been a pleasure reading your blog and I sincerely hope you will continue in the new year. Happy New Year!
I had my tonsils removed and still the doctor says they're enlarged.
I need a new doctor.
It sucks to have a year when you so often feel like you're sick. 2005 was the year that I got both scurvy and mono, as well as one cold after the other. I still feel weak and exhausted just thinking about that year. I hope next year is sickness-free for you.
Am "bugged" today as well... swollen throat, stuffy head, all sorts of crazy thoughts... sigh, wish I was in London.
xox
I had my tonsils out when i was in second grade. Its nice not having that stuff anymore!
