The Simple Things.

I miss my pillow.

I miss my car.

I miss my animal babies.

I miss my friends.

I miss my family.

But most of all? I miss cooking spray. Seriously. Cooking spray. We can't find it anywhere over here, and I'm sick to death of cooking using oil. It irritates me. Alot.

What's got your goat lately?

  2. You should try an international (maybe American) grocery store, London has got to have one of those! In Germany the only place you can get PAM cooking spray is the American section of a grocery store. It is ridiculously expensive but maybe it's worth it for you.
And for me, my roommate. (Almost typed roommare there, a Freudian slip probably, mix of roommate and nightmare.) She's acting so childish it ain't funny anymore. I try to ignore her actions for the most part to keep things from escalating but it is frustrating.

  3. No cooking spray? That's just CRUEL. Seriously.

The cost of medical care is getting my goat lately. It is ridiculous.

  4. No cooking spray? That is so weird.

And I agree with Jess, medical bills are a little ridiculous for me these days, oy.

  5. It's got to be there somewhere! I just did a google search, and there are a ton of recipes from people in London that call for 'cooking spray'...good luck finding it!!

  6. No cooking spray? How about spray butter? Maybe that would be similar?

And also, I have the worst stomach ache today.

Also, WINTER. Can it be spring already? I hate you SNOW!

  7. I miss my ex-fiance's money a little bit, if we're being honest.

  9. No cooking spray! Ack!

Can you buy a spray pump for your oil like this: http://www.amazon.com/Misto-Gourmet-Stainless-Steel-Olive-Sprayer/dp/B00004SPZT

  10. No cooking spray? Really? I wish it weren't an aresol because I would totally send you some. Alas. :(

Working for a living has my goat today.

  11. Just stopping back after reading some comments...and maybe it's just us and/or the Misto we had, but ours ended up in the trash. It didn't really "spray" like a cooking spray cannister does...it was more of a "spurting"...and then it just plain broke after about two months. Boo!

We'd registered for it for our wedding, so maybe the design of it has changed over the last eight years? Who knows...

  12. My job, my colleagues. Oh and my boyfriend who is refusing to acknowledge it's Valentines day apparently. I tried to compromise today and emailed him asking if he wanted to come over to mine for dinner on Thursday. He didn't even mention it in his texts. I don't even LIKE valentine's day, so I think I'm more annoyed with MYSELF for letting it annoy me than anything else!

  13. The never ending cold is driving me crazy. PLEASE GET WARM, BOSTON!

  14. I used to have one of those misters from Pampered Chef. I think it worked ok. Then I forgot about it and the oil went rancid and I had to pitch the whole thing. You can't really clean them thoroughly. They make non-aerosol cooking spray over here, can I send you some of that? Auntie Pam.

  15. I'd volunteer to send you a few cans, but I think there's a law against sending pressurised things via post?

  16. I've had the Misto too and mine was ok. Not great, but ok. Other idea, maybe just a regular spray bottle that you put your own cooking oil into?

What's got me lately is the refusal to talk about the finances of this household. Grow up already S.O.!

  17. Snow. Freakin' snow. We've had so much snow, they've declared a salt shortage for the region. No, not table salt - the kind they put on the roads.

  18. My tim tams taste really weird.

I never use cooking spray. I feel bad now, when I have such easy access to it.

  19. Really? No cooking spray? How about seeing if you can find one of those DIY bottles for olive oil and the like. Load 'em up, pump with air and spray.

What's got my goat lately? This darn cold/flu thing that I just can't get rid of!!!!

  20. Isn't it weird how you can miss the little stuff SO much? I spent some time abroad in Greece during college, and I missed regular milk. The milk over there was just a little strange, and when I finally got home, I think I drank an entire gallon just because I missed it so much!

  21. No cooking spray?! That's just wrong, man.

  22. Currently I'm pissed that there are not one, but TWO poodles in the Best in Show Competition in tonight's Westminster Kennel Club Show. Yes, I'm a nerd and yes, I have to have a can of Pam in the house at all times as well.

  23. in London? Really? I mean, in China I didn't have tin foil or coffee... but London? Cooking Spray?

I'm so sorry ;) .. olive oil in a spray bottle really works. Good luck.

  24. That Hub-E insists on hanging pictures higher than they should be. He thinks I hang them too low. Um, excuse me! I don't think so!

  26. I am annoyed.
Mraz has just announced tour dates for London. That means that yes, we could potentially both see him this tour... however... not together.
    AND THAT SUCKS.

  27. How weird - we have cooking spray in Scotland: Asda, Tesco etc all do it, so I would have thought they'd also have carried it in their stores across the border. How bizarre!

  28. No fucking cooking spray? thats odd. Love the new header (sorry i havent popped by in a while - my reader is chockers!!!)

  29. When I lived in London, I missed root beer the most. Now that I live in the Hudson Valley instead of New York City, I miss Thai food the most.

  30. No cooking spray? That sucks. I hope you find some! I'd hate to cook with oil all the time.

My health care and valentine's day are the items on my "What Grinds My Gears" list. Just because the boyfriend doesn't like v-day doesn't mean I should be forced to ignore it, too! Bleh.

I'll be sending some good vibes to you!

  31. I miss sex....how's that? I am like a nun in a convent right now and it is just so not okay :(

  32. No cooking spray? REALLY? What is wrong with that country?

  33. Maybe you could order the cooking spray from a Williams Sonoma kind of place? Ahh the internet...

  34. I had looooong lists of the simple things (and big things too) that I missed when I lived in Spain. Know what I miss right now? I miss the sun, and tan skin.

    ReplyDelete
  35. That stinks.

I don't like that you haven't been stalking me on e-mail or blogger lately, whats with taht!

  36. It's those little things that can make you homesick. When I was in Spain, I missed certain foods so, so much. Like bagels. And pop tarts. I don't even eat them that often, but the fact that I couldn't get them anywhere on the continent killed me.

I'll mail you some cooking spray if you get desperate. I have - no joke - three unopened canisters at home. Bulk-warehouse grocery stores!

  37. The nasty weather because people drive like IDIOTS!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I'll send you some too! If everyone one of your readers sends you one, at least one can is bound to make it!

  39. I think sometimes we just need to be a kid again and go back to the things that make us the happiest. Like warm chocolate chip cookies and turning your pillow over to the cold side. Favorite.

  40. No cooking spray?!?!?!

What is WRONG with the English?
