Back in 2000, I joined a band message board. I'd heard a song on the radio, fallen in love with it, and went home to google them to find out more information. Turns out they had a message board for the music-lovers. That board was responsible for bringing me to a load of people; some of whom are still around, all these years later.
The first time I met Stefi in person was while I was in Florence in 2004, in the middle of our whirlwind European trip. When she moved to Australia to study, we met up a few times in Sydney, keeping in touch all the while. My jet-setting friend is now in Dublin, so flew down for the weekend. We caught up again today, which was good fun.
We headed out for Thai food; highlights? Coconut rice & Thai pancakes. Green ones.
After that, it was down to Greenwich for fruit smoothies and relaxing in the park.
Followed by some time wandering around Canary Wharf, wander wander wander.
Finishing up at home with a game of good old fashioned Monopoly.
See those hotels? They're all mine. (I totally won, by the way.)
Oooh I love the monopoly! (I LOVE IT).
ReplyDeleteBTw - i'm planning Egypt in about Oct, then hoping to meet up with pals who have just moved to London... who can resist offers of free accom...
perhaps an Alynda / Amanda meet up may be in order! I challenge you to a game of monopoly!
I love Thai food, but those green pancakes? They look wonky.
ReplyDeleteSo did you actually finish the game?? Too bad I had to leave... hehe, I was bankrupt!
ReplyDeleteI had a great time with you guys, definitely coming back in June so we can go to the Tutankhamon exhibit! :)
Wow, what a great visit! I love the photos, as always.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun visit! That food looks DELICIOUS!
ReplyDeleteI don't know what looks better...the awesome green pancakes or the good weather!
ReplyDeleteI am so bad at Monopoly it's almost laughable. I haven't played in YEARS because I'm so bad. I end up just trying to distract the other players while I sit there with my stack of yellow one-dollar bills.
ReplyDelete(Glad you had such a great time!)
sounds like a lovely day to me, especially since you actually finished a game of monopoly, now that's impressive, haha.
