Oscar-fied.

I'm not kidding when I say that since we've brought him home, Oscar has simply not stopped growing. Every so often when he's sleeping he has the kitten look, but then he'll wake up and look at you, and he suddenly doesn't look like a baby anymore.

He's got to go in for his first shots some time this week, which are just because I'm over-cautious. He's an indoor kitty only, but I don't want to take any chances.

I've been smitten since day one, in fact, since before day one; since the first time I saw his cute little face in a photograph. But now, Jason takes the cake. He's totally smitten. Seriously, every time I see them together, a little piece of me melts.

Oscar has his moments when he sleeps like an angel, but still goes into hyper-mode every so often which leaves him sleeping in the hallway and us covered in scratches. He's taken to straddling our arms and using us as his scratching post, which is endearing at first, but becomes quickly painful. Kitty training is tough.

He's always on the move, and the only time he sits still is to sleep. He occasionally uses his bed, but most of the time prefers one of our lounge cushions.

You know, I'm thoroughly enjoying being a bit of a kitty-blogger. To be perfectly honest, we're laying low for a little while after spending way too much money in Denmark, and it's nice to be able to have a laugh at home, knowing that kitty is probably going mental without us.

Plus, I'm going to be in the USA in less than two months now (!) and I am determined to spend as much time with my baby as I can before I leave. No doubt he'll be well and truly all growned up by the time I get home.

  1. It doesn't take much for them to grow up, kittens grow up so quickly.

  11. Such sweet photos - the one with him and your man looking at the computer is cute - and the one with you. Kittens are so adorable when they are still so small and wide eyed.

  13. Oscar is so so adorable! I think he and Puddy could be very good friends (after the initial wrestling match, hissing and fur-flying hehe).

I love the photos of Oscar with you and Jason because it shows just how teeny-tiny he still is! He's just so darn cute. :D

  15. Cute kitty to say the least. I am much more of a dog person myself but cute is cute. Catching up on some reading finally and even a miracle post perhaps. Great to see you are still keeping up with the blog.

  16. He's still tiny, moo. When you think they look like a cat rather than a kitten... I look back at pictures of Fizz during that time and he looks so small. He's a horse now. I'm guessing the picture on Jase's shoulder is old though, since he looks teeny weeny in that one.

Take pictures of him next to particular objects- then when he's all grown, you'll put him next to them and look at the picture and go OMG how small was he!

I wish so much I could cuddle him and give him pats.

  20. That ALMOST makes me want to get another kitty. But then I remember they grow up to be cats. And then they become annoying and around you ALL THE TIME. And when it is 90 degrees in your house, the last thing you want is a fat cat on your lap.

  35. Oh! He's so cute! Looks so much like my cat did when she was little. She did the scratching post arm thing too. She was insane for the first 5 years of her life. Now she's much more calm.
