Time to continue on with the travel pictures; because reminiscing makes me smile, and it is most definitely something that I have meant to blog more about.
8. Alberquerque, New Mexico.
We arrived in New Mexico really quite late, so didn't see much in the evening - other than some karaoke in the hotel, that is. Bright and early the next morning, we pried ourselves up out of bed to head into the city and get ready for our hot air ballooning adventure. It was surprising how terrified I was, leading up to the event - watching the balloons go from flat pieces of fabric to baskets ready to float around in the sky got me a trifle paranoid about HOW it would actually work. We had a cute balloon though, and were soon off cruising along the sky. It was incredible, absolutely incredible. So peaceful, such a pretty view, and just a surreal experience. Loved the landing too, despite being convinced we were about to die.
9. Santa Fe, New Mexico.
We didn't stay long here, unfortunately - just a lunch stop and wander around. It was really, really hot while we were here, and there were crowds of people everywhere. Loved the achitecture and the Indian jewellery that was being sold everywhere was beautiful. I'm sad we didn't get to go further down into NM and see Roswell, though. I would've loved to find myself my very own alien (in the form of Max Evans, of course) down there . . .

Loved New Mexico when I visited years ago. The ballooning looks fantastic. Glad you had such a great time. What an amazing place to go flying in those bright blue skies.
Good luck with NaBloPoMo. You are a braver woman than me... I may look at it next year.
i can't believe you went all the way up to Sante Fe and only had a lunch stop ... the adobe buildings are just awesome - they have covenents that wont let them build anything else ... even the walgreens was adobe !!!
very brave going up in that balloon - i couldn't have done that
at least with NaBloPoMo you'll get to update all the photos from your trip !!!
NAWWW Oh how I miss it. And you, dear.
I want to go hot air ballooning again! I love how we were so terrified of these things and then once they were over we were all "LETS DO IT AGAIN!!".
Remember how they made us walk like a bajillion miles around a block to get back to the bus? IN THE HEAT!?! good times.
What breathtaking photos! I am so glad you had such a wonderful experience...thanks for sharing!
I am so incredibly jealous you went in a hot air balloon. Amazing pics! Next travel picture post please!
ohmygosh i am going to new mexico next summer and i want to do all of this, haha.
wow thats something i've always wanted to do balloon ride maybe one day seeya hugya *G*
There is a novel I had to read for class a while back, Rio Grande Fall by Rudolfo Anaya, where someone dies at the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta in ABQ by falling from the sky. I guess riding a hot air balloon is a very typical ABQ thing to do, hehe. Still jealous you got to see so many places in the Southern US.
That looks so scary and so fun and so amazing and now I want to go to New Mexico and do that. What an awesome thing to say you've done.
This so makes me want to go to New Mexico!! I have an aunt that lives there that I now desperately want to road-trip to see....
In other news, I miss you! I'm glad you're back to blogging....now if only I can get back to reading. ahem. ;o)
