Third Year Running.

I think, for now, that this will be my last NaBloPoMo.

In the beginning, I posted daily anyway - so the idea of completing it in November as well, wasn't much of a challenge. It was the same last year: I had so much going on, so many changes ahead of me that it was easy to come up with daily blog fodder. This year though, is different. I've taken a break from the daily blogging routine, I've tried to get out there and experience things outside of the ordinary, and it's been much harder to plug on through November this time around.

I've met some amazing people through this blog, and through others that I've randomly stumbled across. Some of those friends I've met in real life, I email constantly, I feel like I know better than some people that stand right in front of me on a daily basis. But it feels like people are constantly moving in different directions, and I miss the way that it used to be. That's life, I guess.

I think what I'm trying to say is that daily blogging really isn't it for me, anymore. I'm happier posting sporadically about things that I love, that have happened, or that have tickled my fancy - rather than 'just because'. (Not that there is anything wrong with 'just because' posts, heck, I love my lolcats!) So, friends who are still reading, I hope you'll continue to pop around, even without the daily posts. I would miss you tremendously, if you didn't.

And who knows? I might just finish my USA recap sometime in the next decade or so - I'm halfway through, after all! Bring on December!

  1. Well, I know I still always read your posts, even if I don't comment on every single one. I also found it a bit tough this year but I am not sure if it was much easier last year. It is always easier to blog a lot when you have just moved or are about to move or have some other big plans. Sometimes life is just not that exciting.

  2. I'm definitely with you on this. This year I definitely just gave up mid month due to time and mental commitments, and I don't foresee next year being any easier (though I may have more to post about).

  3. I found this via the Blog 365 feed. (I may be the only one alive still reading it, though there are a few people still blogging every day.)

Anyway, in another 31 days, I will have managed to blog 365 days in 2008. Lord help me. Anyway, I'm looking forward to taking some extended bloggy breaks. However, I think blogging every day for a year has had many good points... I wonder if my blog would have died a slow death without it.

    Hmmm...

  4. I find most blogs with NaBloPoMo are either hit or miss. It is very hard to come up with interesting and riviting blog posts on a daily basis for a whole month - and to be honest, during November I often mark blogs as read because I know the post is just going to be another "I HAVE to blog today but I have nothing to say!" post.

Hence why I've never done - and never will do - NaBloPoMo - I'm flat out writing a few times a week! :P

  5. Possibly this is why i didn't sign up to do it?

I am not entertaining nor do I do anything on a daily basis worthy of blog posts. I think you've done very well ;)

  6. Posting every day because you want to is one thing, doing it because you feel like you HAVE to is another. Live your life, I say!

  10. This is the beauty of Google Reader. Without it, not posting daily would probably lead people to stop checking your site, never to return. With it, we all know whenever you've posted something new, whether or not it's every day. We'll still be here.

  12. Hey you know I am feeling the same way.

Blogging everyday is not natural, unless you're doing it for a living....

    I'm all for Sporadic BLOGGING!
