I think the post title about sums it up.
Apparently I have the upper arm strength of a toddler, because hoo boy, I cannot lift myself up easily. Even in the girly version. I suck.
(Though it doesn't help when there is a cat nipping at your arms the whole time.)
Even so, I'm still persevering, and I suppose that's what counts.
I still hate push ups, though.

That is easily the worst part of Level 1 of The Shred.
I just ordered the dvd and some weights - I'm excited to do it but I'm sure I'll be loathing it once I'm in it!
I bet Oscar has NO idea what you're doing...
but toddlers only have to lift 10kg of body weight, so it's not fair!
I have been going to the gym since the start of February and I can still not do push-ups! My wrists are like the only delicate part of my body, I can wear kids bangles for fucks sake. How am I supposed to lift all that lard?
Mick downloaded the shred for me, might actually give it a whirl tonight. xx
ugh i hate push ups too, so not fun!
I am definitely with you there. Push ups are my weakness. In fact they are so bad that my instructor stopped the warm up for my Kung Fu class to teach me how to do a push up.
I always sucked at pushups. Occasionally my trainer would make me do them, and I'd suck totally.
Last time she asked me to do push ups, I was dreading it. Until I did 10 good ones. And another 10... I got out 25 good ones!
Stick with it, I totally sucked at them, but now I suck a bit less :-)
my cats are always nipping at me while i'm working out too!
Hey Aly just catching up on your blog. I'm glad you made it back to London safe and sound!
I have trouble with push ups, too. I find they make my wrists feel all tweaky. Something that REALLY helped with that was putting the hand weights on the floor where I'd normally place my hands and holding them. That way, your wrists aren't at a 90 degree angle to the forearm when you do the pushups. I found I could even do a few more when I started that!
I hear you, I just tried level one for the first time and the push-ups almost killed me!!!
You are making me feel guilty. In a good way.
I need to work out more! I've been running a bit, but no weights or anything.
Here goes...
Push ups? Try PULL UPS! Yikes... it's been like three years since I pretended to do one, and my arms still hurt a little.
Ugh...push ups. I hate them because I can barely do the girl ones. The only thing worse than push ups...chin ups.
